Geneseo provides secure, reliable printing for faculty, staff, and students using Toshiba devices and Pharos secure print release.

  • Toshiba supports printer and copier hardware
  • Pharos provides secure printing (tap-to-release), print jobs, and scanning
  • CIT provides support for public printers, including toner, paper, and jam assistance

Printing Support

Physical Printer Issues

For physical issues with a device (streaky prints, error codes, repeated paper jams, broken components, etc.):

Submit a service request to Toshiba

  1. Locate the serial number on the front of the printer/copier
  2. Contact Toshiba Support through one of the below options:
    • Online service portal:  https://tbs.toshiba.com/tbs/service/
    • Phone:  1-877-855-1344

Or submit a request to CIT using the Report a Printer Problem form.


Printing, Scanning, or Release Issues

For print or scan job issues (jobs not releasing, login problems, formatting issues, etc.):

  • Submit a ticket using the Report a Pharos Problem form
  • Or visit/contact the CIT HelpDesk (2nd floor, Milne Library), send an email to helpdesk@geneseo.edu or call (585) 245-5588.​​​​​​

Use this option for:

  • Print jobs not appearing or not releasing
  • Tap-to-release issues/id card not working
  • Documents printing with incorrect formatting (e.g., single-sided, wrong number of copies)
  • Scan jobs not appearing or not completing
  • General printing or scanning assistance

Public Printer Supplies & Basic Support

For public printers on campus, CIT provides:

  • Toner replacement
  • Paper restocking
  • Assistance with clearing paper jams
