Getting Started: Your passcode is automatically emailed to you the first time you use Pharos. Because these codes are system-generated for security, they cannot be customized.

What is a Pharos print passcode?
Your passcode is a unique, system-generated code tied to your Geneseo account. It acts as a convenient backup, allowing you to walk up to any campus printer and log in without your Geneseo ID card or mobile device.

How to get it: The passcode is automatically emailed to you the first time you print.

Important Note: Passcodes are system-generated for security and cannot be customized. Please save your passcode email for future reference.
How to use your passcode at a printer
If you don't have your ID card or phone, you can release your print jobs manually:

Walk up to any secure campus printer.

Select Passcode Login on the printer screen.

Enter your passcode using the touchscreen and select Login.

Once authenticated, select and release your print jobs.
How to reset your passcode
You can reset your passcode at any time to generate a new one:

Open the Pharos Secure Release application on your computer (search via Spotlight on macOS or the Start Menu on Windows).

Click the menu icon (three lines) in the upper-right corner and select Reset Passcode.

The Setup Guide will launch. If prompted, log in with your Geneseo email and password.

Your new 6-character passcode will display on the screen, and a copy will be emailed to you.
Using your Geneseo ID Card or Key Fob
For the fastest printing experience, you can tap your Geneseo ID card or key fob at the printer instead of typing in a passcode.

Walk up to any campus printer.

Tap your ID card or key fob against the printer's "ID Card" reader sticker.
First time using your card? If your card or fob isn't working yet, you just need to complete a quick one-time registration using the steps below.
Registering a New ID Card or Key Fob
You can self-register a new card or fob at any Pharos Toshiba printer on campus:

Ensure you have your 6-character Pharos passcode handy (see the Resetting section above if you need to find it).

Tap your unregistered Geneseo ID card or key fob at the printer.

When prompted by the screen, enter your 6-character passcode.

Your card/fob is now linked to your account and ready for future use.
