Do I need a personal LinkedIn account?
- No. You do not need a personal LinkedIn account to use SUNY Geneseo’s LinkedIn Learning service.
- However, if you do have a personal account, you can choose to connect the two.

Curated Opportunities: On your personal LinkedIn feed, you will see suggestions for relevant courses, workshops, and learning opportunities that match your professional interests.
What about privacy?
If you choose to link your personal LinkedIn account and your SUNY Geneseo LinkedIn Learning account, here is what you need to know:

What SUNY Geneseo administrators CAN see: Your basic LinkedIn profile information (such as your name, job title, and profile photo) and any course history you choose to transfer from your personal account to your university account.

What SUNY Geneseo CANNOT see: Your LinkedIn connections, private messages, job search activity (like job posts you have viewed), or any personal learning history you choose not to share.

You retain full control: You decide what learning achievements are shared with your network. For example, you choose whether to add completed courses to your public profile or share them with your connections.
You can keep your SUNY Geneseo LinkedIn Learning account completely separate from your personal LinkedIn account. If you change your mind, you can easily connect them later.
