A blank screen when opening or using Mailmeteor usually indicates a browser account conflict, an unformatted spreadsheet file, or an authorization timeout.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Test in an Incognito / Private Window (Most Common Fix)
• If you are logged into multiple Google accounts in your browser, Google Workspace add-ons can fail to authenticate properly.
• Open a private or incognito browser window, log into ONLY your Geneseo Google account, open your Google Sheet, and try launching Mailmeteor again.
2. Launch Directly from Google Sheets
• Instead of starting from the Mailmeteor web dashboard, open your file in Google Drive.
• In the top menu, go to Extensions > Mailmeteor > Open Mailmeteor.
3. Verify File Format
• Mailmeteor requires a native Google Sheet. If your file is a Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or TSV file uploaded to Drive, Mailmeteor will stall when attempting to read the data.
• Open the file in Google Drive, go to File > Save as Google Sheets, and run Mailmeteor from the newly created sheet.
4. Clear Cache or Try a Clean Sheet
• Browser ad-blockers or accumulated cache can prevent the Mailmeteor pop-up from loading. Try clearing your browser cache or temporarily disabling extensions like ad-blockers.
• If the file has thousands of blank rows or heavy formatting, try copying just your recipient data into a fresh, empty Google Sheet and opening Mailmeteor from there.
5. Reinstall the Add-on
• If none of the above work, go to Extensions > Add-ons > Manage Add-ons in Google Sheets.
• Uninstall Mailmeteor, refresh your browser window, and reinstall it from the Google Workspace Marketplace to refresh your authorization tokens.
