First time using Mailmeteor in Sheets? The "Receive a test email" preview option won't work just yet. To fix this, simply create a quick test mail merge and send an email to yourself without previewing it. Google will then prompt you to authorize Mailmeteor. Once authorized, all future test emails will work perfectly.
Prepare Your Spreadsheet
- Create columns with headers like:
First Name | Email Address | Company | Custom Message
- Fill in your data for each contact.
- Make sure the Email Address column contains valid emails.
Open Mailmeteor in Google Sheets
- In your Google Sheet, click Extensions â Mailmeteor - Mail merge â New campaign.
- The Mailmeteor window will open in the right sidebar.
Write Your Email
- Compose your email or select a previously saved template.
- Use merge tags exactly matching your column headers to write your Subject and Body (e.g.,
{{First Name}}).
Preview or Send Emails
- Choose whether to Preview email or Send emails:
- Preview emails
- Receive a test email: Sends a single copy directly to you for final review.
- Send emails: Automatically delivers individualized messages sequentially to all rows with valid email addresses.
- Watch live delivery metrics and transmission progress directly in the extension sidebar.
Track Your Emails (Optional)
- Mailmeteor updates real-time tracking data demonstrating individual metrics for your open, click, and reply tracking elements (if enabled in campaign settings).
