Name changes can happy for various reasons (marriages, separations, gender changes, etc.). When this happens, your display name (ex. Victor E. Knight) will automatically be updated to reflect this once the proper office has been notified. However, your email address (ex. vknight@geneseo.edu) will not automatically update to match your new name. Request this service to have a new Geneseo account created with an email address that reflects your new name.
Before you start
Before submitting this request, please make sure you've read the Geneseo Account Name Changes Self Help page. Please be aware that this process creates a new Geneseo account for you with the requested email address. You will need to use this new account for accessing websites and services, such as myGeneseo, Knightweb, and Brightspace. Your old account will be disabled after 30 days from the date your new account is created.
Students
A new account will be created for you using your initials with a username in the format of abc123, and your email will be abc123@geneseo.edu.
Employees
A new account will be created for you using your first initial and last name with a username in the format of flastname, and your email will be flastname@geneseo.edu.
