RStudio Installation Guide

 

RStudio is an open-source, integrated development environment (IDE) built to supercharge your productivity with R. Available for free across Windows, Mac, and Linux, it brings everything you need into a single workspace.

RStudio combines a powerful syntax-highlighting editor and direct code execution with intuitive tools for plotting, debugging, history tracking, and workspace management.

Steps

  • Download the latest version of R from https://cloud.r-project.org.

  • Install R by running the downloaded installer.

  • Download RStudio for your operating system (usually macOS or Windows ).

  • Complete the installation of RStudio.

    • macOS

      • Open the downloaded file

      • Drag the RStudio icon to the Applications folder

      • Eject the open disk image

      • Delete the downloaded 

    • Windows

      • Open the downloaded installer

      • Complete the installation wizard to finish installing the software.
