EMS Desktop Client

Target Audience / Use Case: Administrative Staff (Windows) — Full back-end event management & user account administration (not for requesting room reservations).

Access URL: Requires installation via Desktop Deploy
Virtual EMS (Web App)
Best for: Standard room reservations for all students, faculty, and staff.
EMS Web Client
Best for: Mac users or staff who need advanced desktop functionality without installing software.
Windows Desktop Client Installation
Best for: Windows power users who actively manage campus schedules and user accounts.
These steps are for Windows OS only. The Desktop client does not use Single Sign-On (SSO).v
Installation Steps:
- Open Chrome, Firefox, or Edge and go to https://geneseo.emscloudservice.com/desktop/.
- Click Download and Install the EMS Desktop Client. (Save both
EMSApplication.exe and emswebdeployconfiguration.cfg if prompted).
- Go to your Downloads folder and double-click EMSApplication.exe.
- If prompted for a configuration URL, enter:
https://geneseo.emscloudservice.com/desktop/ and click OK.
- When installation finishes, enter your dedicated EMS User ID and Password at the login window.
Troubleshooting Desktop Coordinates:
- If open windows "get lost" off-screen or hide in the background, go to Settings → Reset Window Coordinates inside the application.
