Blocking Email From Specific Senders

To permanently stop unwanted emails from a specific sender, like persistent spam or a harassing account, you can create a silent Gmail filter. Using Google's built-in tools is fast and effective.

Steps - Block Sender

  1. Log in to Gmail with your Geneseo Google account.

  2. Select a message from the sender you wish to block.

  3. Click the downward-pointing triangle to the right of the message's reply button and select Block.

  4. Confirm that you wish to block that sender.

  5. Log in to Gmail with your Geneseo Google account.

  6. Click the gear icon on the right and click "See All Settings".

  7. Click "Filters and Blocked Addresses".

  8. Scroll down to the section that begins with "The following email addresses are blocked..."

    1. If you wish to unblock a blocked sender, click the "unblock" link to the right of that sender. 

    2. You will be asked to confirm this.
