Learn how to turn your Google Slides presentation into a video and add a professional voiceover in just a few steps.


Converting a Google Slide Presentation to a Video

  • Open your presentation in Google Slides.

  • Click File > Convert to video (or click the Convert to video icon in the right sidebar). A side panel will open.

  • Click the blue Convert button. This opens your presentation as a new project in a Google Vids tab.

  • Select the slide or slides you want to include in the video and click the blue Create the draft video button.


Record Narration

  • From the timeline, click the scene where you want to add the recording.
  • In the side panel, click Record , then select:
    • Voiceover  : To capture audio only from your computer’s microphone.
  • In the Voiceover recording box, click Settings to configure your audio:

    • Select your microphone: In the Voiceover recording box, ensure your preferred mic is selected.

    • Turn on Noise cancellation: Toggle this option to filter out background noise (requires Google Vids to be open in Chrome).

  • At the bottom of your screen, click Start recording .
    • To stop or pause the recording, at the bottom of your screen, click Pause recording .
  • To watch or listen to your recording, click blue  (which will now say preview when you hover your cursor over it).
  • To add your recording to a video, click Insert .
