Export Your Schedule from myGeneseo

Follow these steps to download your calendar file

Sign in to myGeneseo

  • Log in to your myGeneseo dashboard.

Locate your courses

  • Look for your course widget on the dashboard:
    • Students: Look for the Courses service.

    • Faculty: Look for the Faculty Courses service.

  • Don't see it? Click the wrench icon in the left menu (second from the top), look under the Services list, and select your respective courses service to open it.

Export the calendar file

  • Once your weekly course screen is open, click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner.
  • Select Calendar Export from the pop-up menu.

    • This will download a .ical file to your computer.

Import into Google Calendar

To bring your schedule into Google Calendar, follow these quick steps:

  • Open Google Calendar on your computer.

  • In the top right, click the Settings Cog ⚙ -> Settings.

  • In the left menu, click Import & export.

  • Click Select file from your computer and choose the .ical file you just downloaded.

  • Choose which calendar you want to add the courses to (we highly recommend creating a separate "Classes" calendar first so you can toggle it on and off).

  • Click Import.

⚠️ Important Details & Limitations

While this tool is incredibly convenient, the export is a static snapshot. Please review your imported calendar carefully and note the following exceptions:

  • Duplicate Risk: Importing the same .ical file multiple times will cause duplicate events. If this happens, delete the duplicate event and select "All Events in the Series."

  • Holidays & Breaks: Classes will still appear on days when the college is closed (e.g., Labor Day, Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Spring Break). You will need to delete these manually.

  • Study Days & Finals: Classes will show up on scheduled Study Days and Final Exam days. Note that actual final exam times are not included in this export.

  • Partial-Term Courses: If you have courses that start late or end early (such as H&PE courses), they may still populate for the entire semester on your calendar.
