Use the links to the right to navigate quickly through the step-by-step instructions for creating a new page in WordPress.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for creating a new page in WordPress.


New Page

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.

  2. In the left-hand sidebar menu, hover over Pages.

  3. Click Add New Page.

Depending on the page you create a pattern will be applied by default.

Add Your Title and Content

  1. Title: Click on “Add title” at the very top and type the name of your page (e.g., "About Us," "Services").

  2. Content: Click the + (Plus icon) or start typing in the main white area to add content.

  3. Blocks: Everything is a "block" (paragraphs, images, headings, videos).

  4. Move Blocks: Use the up/down arrows on the floating toolbar near a block to rearrange them.


Configure Page Settings (Right Sidebar)

  • Look for the sidebar on the right.

    • If you don't see it, click the Settings icon (looks like a square split into columns) in the top-right corner and view the page section.

  • Select Subsite: Choose one subsite for this content.


Preview Before You Publish

Before Saving your changes, which will make the page live for the world to see:

  • Click the page tab in the page right toolbar.

  • Then click on the "Published" text to open a drop down menu.

    • Select "Save as draft" instead of Published.

  • Now click the blue Save button in the upper right to save as a draft.

    • After you click save the Save button becomes a Publish button.

  • To Preview the draft, click on the three dots of the page toolbar and select view.
